About Kaztastrphe
Kaz has been a teacher of the Visual and Creative Arts to both high school students and wider artistic community since the 80’s. She has lived in the Northern Territory of Australia since her early twenties in both urban and remote settings. Influenced by a number of genres over the years, especially the arts of East Arnhem First Nation traditional owners, Kaz blends the techniques of old and new in her pieces. Kaz has delved into many mediums over the years from watercolours to metal work, due to having to be a” Jack of all trades”, when teaching in both the Visual Arts and Technical Studies, in the remote location of Nhulunbuy, East Arnhem Land. Now semi retired "I'm living the dream of becoming a real artist".
Kaz has travelled overseas to engage with well known artists such as Tom Lynch and David Hinchliffe and is currently the Artist in Residence at Darwin Visual Arts Gallery, where she has a studio gallery and holds workshops for members and guests.
